Born in the Rocky Mountains southeast of Yellowstone National Park, the legendary Bighorn River runs for over three hundred miles through Wyoming and Montana, amid scenic mountain ranges and river canyons before joining the Yellowstone River. On the Crow Indian Reservation below the Bighorn Reservoir, the Bighorn River is a classic tail-water fishery featuring cold, clear water and abundant nutrients for the aquatic invertebrates that large trout love to feed on.
